Below is a catalogue of our exceptional female animals. Through our extensive embryo programme, we have complete and reliable information on all fertility aspects of our animals.
The original bloodlines.
First generation genetics from the original imported material. Born on South African soil, but true Ugandan bloodlines — and mature enough now to show exactly how the genetics translate into physical features and performance.
The cows we bred with.
Fire Sky does not own every female in its pedigrees.
These are the second-generation dams that stand between the foundation cows and the herd today — Texas, Aura, Merlot, Botse, Kamali, Birungi and the rest. Some are deceased, some belong to other studs, and one or two are known only by a registration. They are kept on the record because a pedigree that stops at the animals you own is not a pedigree.
What the numbers mean.
Horn measurements are recorded in inches and eighths — a 52 4/8" trophy is fifty-two and a half inches along the outside curve. Where an animal is still growing, the age at measurement is given, because a 33 6/8" heifer at four years is a very different proposition to the same measurement at ten.
Registration prefixes record where an animal was bred, not where it lives. Foundational codes — BA1, A17, A26 — identify the original imported animals a bloodline traces back to.
